FRANKFURT (MktNews) - The European Commission's Business Climate Indicator (BCI) "decreased markedly" in March to its lowest level since November 1999, the Commission said Wednesday.
The March index is now less than half its level last December and well below its recent peak of +1.73 in June last year.
"While the decline indicates a deterioration in the confidence of industrial firms, the indicator is still in line with industrial production that is hovering above its 1986-2000 average," the Commissions aid.
